Tether CEO Responds to US Senator's Sanctions Report: Iran-Related Stablecoin Transaction Volume Has Dropped 94%

Odaily Report: Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino posted on X, responding to a report on Tether's sanctions enforcement released by US Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Ardoino stated that the report ignores Tether's proactive actions in freezing sanctioned addresses. Since 2023, Tether has on average frozen relevant addresses 4 weeks ahead of formal designations by the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Israel's National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF), and in 99% of cases, the relevant addresses were frozen before being flagged by Chainalysis.
