German Savings Banks Launch Crypto Trading Service with €0.99 Fee per Order

Odaily: German savings banks launched cryptocurrency trading services this Monday. The first batch of participating institutional clients can directly buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and Polygon through the existing official app. The service is supported by Dekabank, with crypto asset custody jointly handled by Dekabank and Stuttgart Stock Exchange. The fee is €0.99 per order, and users do not need to link a traditional securities account. Individual savings banks will decide their own launch timelines, with an estimated 30 to 40 savings banks onboarding each month, aiming to cover most interested savings banks by the first half of 2027. DSGV management board member Joachim Schmalzl stated that the product primarily targets customers who wish to independently trade and custody crypto assets. Savings banks do not provide investment advice and will not conduct extensive proactive marketing in the initial phase. German savings banks also caution that cryptocurrencies are highly speculative assets with potentially severe price volatility, and customers may face the risk of total loss. Traditional securities investment, savings plans, and financial advisory services remain their core business.
