9 Public Companies Oppose OKX and ICE Tokenizing Their Stocks
Odaily reports: 9 public companies have formally objected to the issuance of tokenized versions of their stocks on a proposed platform backed by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). ICE is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
The companies involved include Cerebras Systems, AppLovin, Applied Digital, Rocket Lab, CoreWeave, Verizon Communications, Applied Optoelectronics, Broadcom, and UnitedHealth Group. The announcement did not disclose the specific reasons for each company's objection.
Under the innovation exemption arrangement published by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 17, tokenized trading platforms must issue written notice to issuers and provide an opportunity to object before listing third-party tokenized stocks. Over the past 30 days, more than $754 million in funds have moved on-chain, with the total scale of stablecoins and tokenized assets reaching $320 billion. (Cointelegraph)
