16 financial institutions affected by the hacking incident, including Gopax operator Streami
Odaily report: South Korea's Financial Services Commission disclosed on October 14 that Streami, the operator of the Gopax exchange, was among 16 financial institutions affected by a recent hacking incident. The incident affected a total of 16 financial institutions, and regulators identified approximately 100,000 data breach cases during an investigation across the financial industry. This figure is not the number of Gopax's individual customers, and there is currently no breakdown by institution. As of October 15, Gopax has not issued an apology or detailed public statement. South Korea's Financial Services Commission said it will investigate whether the attack methods involved AI and deploy broader security checks and coordinated response. Existing evidence cannot prove that Gopax had a specific scale of crypto assets stolen.
