SecuX App Still Inaccessible After Emergency Maintenance, Previously Pushed Phishing Notification Inducing Mnemonic Phrase Entry
Odaily reports: According to SecuX's official account and monitoring by Ripple CTO David "JoelKatz" Schwartz, hardware wallet manufacturer SecuX announced on October 16 that its App was undergoing a "major system upgrade and emergency maintenance," and stated at 15:34 that day that services had "resumed normal operation." That same evening, David "JoelKatz" Schwartz disclosed that the SecuX Android App had pushed a fraudulent notification to him, which upon clicking redirected to a phishing page designed to induce users into entering their 12 or 24 mnemonic words. SecuX did not explain the cause of the incident and only reiterated that it would never request recovery phrases. As of October 17, multiple users reported that they still could not access their wallets, and the service remained unavailable.
