Solana Foundation Chair Responds to Shanghai Event Postponement: Registrations Surged to 4x the Original Number, Exceeding the Declared Attendance Cap

Odaily News: Solana Foundation Chair Lily Liu posted on X responding to the postponement of the Shanghai event, stating that due to previous promotional activities such as the light show on the exterior wall of the Citigroup Tower in Shanghai's Lujiazui, registrations for the Solana Shanghai event grew overnight to 4 times the original number, far exceeding the attendance cap declared to local government authorities.

Lily Liu stated that due to the difficulty of controlling potential overcrowding at the venue, and in order to comply with relevant local requirements, the team decided to postpone the event and reschedule it once they have sufficient capacity to accommodate attendees.

She also stated that the Solana light show on the evening of October 14 was intended to express appreciation and gratitude to the Chinese community, and apologized to all community members who had planned to attend the event.
