Motion Filed to Expedite Review in Illinois Digital Asset Tax Law Lawsuit with Multiple Organizations Jointly Submitting

Odaily News: The Blockchain Association and the Crypto Council for Innovation, together with the Illinois state government, the Digital Chamber, and the Illinois Blockchain Association, have filed a joint motion with the Sangamon County Circuit Court requesting expedited review of two lawsuits challenging Illinois' Digital Asset Tax Law. The Illinois state government has agreed to issue an injunction suspending the law's effective date and enforcement until July 1, 2027. The parties have proposed a briefing schedule for an expedited summary judgment process, with the first round of motions to be filed on November 4, 2026, and all relevant briefs to be completed by January 22, 2027.
