SBI Holdings and Startale Join Open Standard to Explore Global Interoperability Between JPYSC and OUSD

According to official news, SBI Holdings and Startale have announced their participation in Open Standard. The two companies will explore interoperability between OUSD and JPYSC, aiming to enhance the international liquidity of yen-denominated assets. Both companies will continue to deepen collaboration with Open Standard's global partner network to build a secure, trusted, and interoperable stablecoin ecosystem for the on-chain era within applicable regulatory frameworks.

Yoshitaka Kitao, Chairman and President of SBI Holdings, stated: "We are participating in Open Standard and exploring the proof of concept for interoperability between OUSD and JPYSC. SBI Group has become the first company in Japan to offer USD-denominated stablecoins USDC and RLUSD, and will continue to promote broader adoption of digital assets through collaboration with leading partners in Japan and overseas."

Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale, stated: "We believe that piloting interoperability between JPYSC and OUSD is of great significance. The Japanese yen and the US dollar are the two most powerful and trusted currencies in the world, and enabling them to be seamlessly exchanged and used on-chain could unlock significant opportunities."

It is reported that JPYSC is a yen-denominated, trust-backed stablecoin issued by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank Co., Ltd. Open Standard is a stablecoin alliance composed of more than 140 leading global companies, including Visa, Stripe, Mastercard, BlackRock, and Coinbase, dedicated to promoting the adoption of the stablecoin Open USD (OUSD).
