Hyperliquid's Cumulative Protocol Revenue Surpasses $1 Billion, Over 41 Million HYPE Tokens Repurchased and Burned
Odaily News: Decentralized perpetual contract trading platform Hyperliquid's cumulative protocol revenue surpassed $1 billion as of June 30, 2026. The platform recorded approximately $492 billion in trading volume in the first quarter of 2026, ranking second only to Coinbase by trading volume.
Approximately 97% to 99% of Hyperliquid's protocol fees are directed through the Assistance Fund for open-market HYPE repurchases, with over 41 million tokens cumulatively repurchased and burned, valued at more than $1 billion.
Hyperliquid operates its own blockchain, and HIP-3 allows users to create permissionless asset markets based on price feeds. Protocol revenue primarily comes from opening and closing trading fees, as well as fees charged for creating new markets; funding rates are periodically exchanged between long and short parties, and the protocol does not retain this portion of funds.
