Payment volume up nearly 200% year-over-year, Visa's stablecoin-linked card program supports over 160
Odaily reports: Visa stated that its stablecoin-linked card program has seen payment volume grow nearly 200% year-over-year and now supports more than 160 consumer, business, and commercial card programs. So far in fiscal year 2026, approximately 17% of stablecoin-linked card transaction volume comes from business and commercial card programs.
Mark Nelsen, Visa's Global Head of Product, Commercial, and Money Movement Solutions, said that businesses are seeking trustworthy and reliable ways to move money, and stablecoins are increasingly appearing in commercial applications such as supplier payments, treasury operations, and cross-border commerce. Allium research shows that payments are the fastest-growing use case for stablecoins, with annual payment volume estimated at $401 billion to $527 billion, of which service fees, payroll, and supplier payments account for $56 billion, $43 billion, and $28 billion respectively, with B2B cross-border payments making up 43%.
