US International Trade Commission Investigates Micron and Multiple Server Manufacturers Over Memory Products

Odaily News: The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has voted to launch an investigation into a major type of memory product manufactured by Micron Technology (MU.O)—dynamic random-access memory (DRAM)—as well as multiple server manufacturers that use these chips in their products.

The federal agency stated that the investigation is based on a complaint filed on behalf of Netlist, a memory supplier based in Irvine, California. The complaint alleges that the companies in question violated U.S. federal tariff law, accusing certain DRAM devices and products containing them of being imported and sold in the United States in infringement of the company's patents. In addition to Micron, the USITC said it will also investigate server manufacturers Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer, and Lenovo Group.
