Gate Europe CEO Dr. Giovanni Cunti: AI Agents Drive the Industry to Deliver Services Around Demand, Making Finance More User-Centric
According to a recent LinkedIn post by Gate Europe CEO Dr. Giovanni Cunti, AI Agents are pushing financial automation beyond executing fixed processes toward understanding user needs and autonomously completing tasks. Unlike traditional automation, AI Agents can, based on user-defined goals and in response to environmental changes, complete corresponding operations within clearly defined permissions and rules. This also means that in the future, the way users interact with financial services may no longer be limited to selecting products one by one, but rather setting goals directly and letting AI coordinate the underlying financial services.
Dr. Giovanni Cunti stated that digital assets and blockchain infrastructure provide a strong application foundation for this development. Blockchain networks can operate continuously and possess programmable characteristics, while on-chain data can reflect asset and transaction status in real time. Based on these features, AI Agents are expected to connect different protocols and applications, flexibly combining financial tools according to user needs and actual conditions, enabling different financial services to collaborate more effectively.
At the same time, having AI take on more financial operations also means higher trust requirements. Dr. Giovanni Cunti pointed out that clear permission management, risk control, information transparency, and necessary human intervention will remain important foundations for applying AI to financial services. Leveraging a European compliance foundation built on dual MiCA and Payment Institution (PI) licenses, Gate Europe is exploring the combination of AI Agents with programmable financial infrastructure, promoting the practical application of AI in digital finance, enhancing service efficiency while ensuring users always understand and control the relevant operations.
