Over 80% of deposits involved fraud during peak periods, with Polymarket's US platform implicated in over $10 million
Odaily News: During its rapid business expansion, Polymarket's US platform mishandled debit card theft fraud. In February of this year, the company responsible for processing its debit card transactions discovered that a large number of fraudsters were linking stolen debit cards to accounts, attempting to place bets and withdraw funds to accounts under their control, with at least $10 million involved. At its peak, more than 80% of deposits were flagged as fraudulent, far above the industry standard of approximately 1%.
