Trading Results Can Be Locked: MetaMask Introduces New Feature to Guard Against Red Pill Attacks

Odaily News: MetaMask has launched a security feature called Added Protection in browser extension v13.45, applicable to Ethereum and EVM applications. This feature simulates execution before a user initiates a transaction through a DApp and sets the simulation result as a condition that the transaction must satisfy; if the actual on-chain execution result differs from the preview, the transaction will automatically roll back, and the user only needs to bear the network Gas fee.

The feature is enabled by default, and users can manually turn it off on the confirmation page. It currently supports 13 EVM networks that support smart accounts EIP-7702, with mobile support to follow.
