Lee Jae-myung acknowledges shortcomings of single-stock leveraged ETFs but does not apologize for investor losses
Odaily reports: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung acknowledged on Friday that single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds (ETFs) launched earlier this year have shortcomings. At a press conference, he stated that such products were introduced near the end of a stock market rally, and the subsequent market reversal caused massive losses for investors. However, Lee Jae-myung did not apologize for this, nor did he name those responsible for the policy decisions. The policy had previously triggered strong dissatisfaction and backlash among investors.
