US House Ways and Means Committee Passes the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act in a 38-5 Vote

Odaily News: The U.S. House Ways and Means Committee passed the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act by a vote of 38 to 5, advancing the bill to the full House for further consideration.

The bill aims to clarify tax rules for digital assets, including setting a $10 de minimis threshold for everyday crypto payments, and addresses crypto income recognition, asset transfers, wash sale rules, mining, staking, and broker-related tax requirements, in order to promote tax treatment of digital assets similar to that of other financial assets. The vote took place less than 24 hours after the CLARITY Act failed to pass a key procedural vote in the Senate. (CoinDesk)
