0x: Over half of analyzed Uniswap v4 Hooks exhibit malicious behavior, with some trades delivering up to 50% less than quoted

Odaily News: DEX aggregator 0x has stated that the number of malicious Uniswap v4 Hooks has increased significantly recently. Some Hooks offer attractive prices during the quote phase but alter the execution price at settlement, thereby stealing funds from users through aggregators, wallets, and trading applications.

0x stated that after analyzing 84,163 Hooks across 6 chains, it found that as of September 11, only 19.4% were deemed safe, 54.2% were deemed malicious, and another 26.4% were likely malicious. For some trades routed through malicious v4 Hooks, users received up to 50% less in assets than the quoted amount at actual execution.

0x stated that since the beginning of this year, it has routed 81.92 million transactions with a trading volume of $42.67 billion, approximately 70% of which involved Uniswap liquidity. Currently, 0x has implemented measures such as detection and liquidity pool screening to prevent related malicious liquidity pools from entering trade routing.
