Odaily News, supply chain sources revealed that due to rising overall costs, Intel (INTC.O) has been gradually increasing prices on PC CPUs over the past year, with another 10% increase tentatively scheduled for early October. Despite an anticipated slight decline in the PC end-market by 2027, Intel still chooses to raise CPU prices, underscoring that boosting gross margins is its primary goal, and the past practice of cutting prices to gain market share is no longer seen. Supply chain analysts suggest that if Intel sets low gross margins as a key threshold for product retention, some products will inevitably be phased out. Should these demands be released, it could give Arm-based players such as MediaTek and Qualcomm an opportunity to enter the market.
