Brazil's July crypto purchases fell to $572 million, down 80% month-over-month

Odaily News, data from the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) shows that crypto purchases in July totaled $572 million, down nearly 80% from $2.6 billion in June and nearly 60% from $1.4 billion in July 2025.

Fernando Rocha, head of the statistics department at the Central Bank of Brazil, stated that the changes are occurring as cryptocurrency exchanges adapt to the new regulatory environment for digital assets, with anti-money laundering controls and governance requirements being significant factors in the decline in transaction volumes.

Since 2026, Brazil's cumulative crypto purchases have reached $15.25 billion, more than double the $7.6 billion recorded in the same period of 2025. The BCB noted that most of these transactions involve stablecoins. (Bitcoin.com News)
