Bitcoin Could Fall to $50,000 in Autumn, Pressure from Rate Hike Expectations and Stalled CLARITY Act

2026-09-03 06:11

Odaily News – Bitcoin's recent upward momentum is weakening, with the market facing multiple pressures including rising expectations of US interest rate hikes and stalled crypto legislation. Some analysts believe that if expectations of US rate hikes intensify sharply, Bitcoin's price could fall back into the $50,000 range.

Additionally, progress on US cryptocurrency regulatory legislation has stalled. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) has hit obstacles in congressional deliberations. On September 15, the US Congress will hold a vote to decide whether to end related discussions. Prediction market data shows that the probability of the bill passing by 2026 has dropped from over 50% in July to less than 20% currently.

Cryptocurrency analyst Shoji Nishiyama stated that if expectations of US rate hikes intensify sharply, Bitcoin could once again decline to the $50,000 range. Potential IPOs by AI companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic could also divert some venture capital funds, putting pressure on Bitcoin. However, some analysts believe the previous downtrend may have come to a phased end, and the market is currently focused on whether Bitcoin can stabilize within the $60,000–$85,000 range amid macroeconomic and policy headwinds this autumn.
