Multi-chain assets may be stolen—fake GTA 6 leak site tricks visitors into connecting wallets and signing malicious transactions

2026-09-03 00:45

Odaily News: Reports indicate that scammers have leveraged the hype around GTA 6 to set up phishing websites, claiming to sell a leaked version of the game for $50 or 1 SOL, tricking visitors into connecting their wallets and signing malicious transactions. The site contains approximately 2.4MB of malicious scripts capable of identifying wallet assets across seven chains—Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Base, and Fantom—and either immediately transferring assets based on the permissions signed by victims, or obtaining permissions for subsequent transfers of tokens and NFTs. Before triggering, the scripts check the visitor's IP address to avoid 10 countries, including Armenia and Russia.
