CFTC Files Motion to Dismiss CME's Motion in Perpetual Contract Lawsuit

Odaily News The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a motion to dismiss CME's motion regarding the perpetual contract lawsuit. The motion argues that CME lacks standing in this lawsuit, citing reasons including that CME itself is equally capable of launching perpetual contracts, and therefore any alleged harm is essentially self-inflicted. Previously, CME planned to sue the CFTC over the agency's decision to greenlight bitcoin perpetual contracts for Kalshi.
