CCTP V1 will be fully decommissioned on December 1, 2026, Circle urges migration to V2

Odaily News, Circle announced that the cross-chain transfer protocol CCTP V1 (Legacy) will be gradually deprecated starting October 31, 2026, and will be fully decommissioned on December 1, 2026. If applications still route USDC through CCTP V1 contracts, they need to initiate migration immediately. Circle stated that CCTP V2 will become the only recommended path, supporting standard and fast transfer modes, programmable composability features such as Hooks, as well as future new public chain integrations. Circle has published a migration guide blog post, urging developers to complete contract and routing updates in advance to avoid disruptions in cross-chain USDC transfers.
