2026-08-28 15:28

Odaily News According to official sources, the voting phase for Solana's "double deflation" proposal has concluded, with a voter participation rate of 60.69%. Among the votes, 67% were in favor, 25.16% opposed, and 7.84% abstained, with the approval rate meeting the required 2/3 supermajority threshold for passage. The proposal aims to reduce the SOL inflation rate to approximately half of its current level, effectively increasing the deflation rate to 30%. Based on current estimates, this proposal would reduce SOL issuance by approximately 18.9 million tokens over the next six years. The voting phase for the "Resource and Inclusion Fees" proposal has also concluded, with a voter participation rate of 61.14%. Among the votes, 53.9% were in favor, 18.92% opposed, and 27.18% abstained, with the approval rate failing to meet the required 2/3 supermajority threshold. This proposal sought to introduce a resource-based transaction fee mechanism, charging fees according to the network resources occupied by transactions, which was expected to increase SOL's daily burn rate from the current approximately 650 tokens to between 7,500 and 9,000 tokens.
