At this important moment, he faces a delicate challenge: how to respond to the highly diverse expectations of the market and various stakeholders. On one hand, some hope he will continue the tradition of previous Fed Chairs by providing forward guidance while elaborating on his current policy reaction function—that is, how the Fed will make policy decisions in response to changes in economic data and conditions.

On the other hand, some hope he will return to the original long-term strategic positioning of this unique conference. This means placing greater focus on the growing number of increasingly complex domestic U.S. economic and policy issues, against the backdrop of deep structural changes driven by both technological innovation and geopolitical economics.
