Odaily News, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) FX strategist Samarra Hammoud stated that Federal Reserve Chair Warsh's speech at Jackson Hole will attempt to achieve four main objectives, including: restoring market confidence in the Fed's commitment to curbing inflation; alleviating market concerns about "fiscal dominance"; convincing the market that reducing reliance on forward guidance will not harm financial stability; and strengthening market confidence in the Fed's various working groups. These goals are quite ambitious, and the market should remain skeptical, believing that communication alone is insufficient to achieve them. Given Warsh's resistance to forward guidance, the market may perceive his stance on inflation as not hawkish enough. In this case, the US dollar could weaken. (Jin 10)
