Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise to Add Pay-As-You-Go Model to Help Control AI Usage Costs

Odaily News: Google Cloud has launched new tools to help enterprises reduce and control AI usage costs. Gemini Enterprise will introduce a pay-as-you-go model, allowing businesses to avoid fixed subscription fees and set monthly spending caps—once the budget is exhausted, AI agents will pause invocation. Customers who commit to long-term usage can receive 10% to 20% discounts, and tasks scheduled during off-peak hours may qualify for discounts of up to 50%.

Google (GOOG.O) stated that this move is aimed at enabling enterprises to trial AI at a lower cost and expand the enterprise AI market. Meanwhile, Google continues to advance frontier AI model R&D, competing with OpenAI and Anthropic. (Jin Shi)
