A whale with the handle "Setting 10 Big Goals First" has closed its BTC short position at a loss, which was initially opened between $74,000 and $76,000.
Odaily News: The whale known as "Setting 10 Big Goals First" posted on X to update the progress of its previous BTC short position. The whale stated that it had established a short position when BTC was in the $74,000-$76,000 range. When the price rapidly surged to around $79,500, it reduced most of the position. Although some short positions were re-established near $78,000 afterward, the early moves had already resulted in realized losses of approximately $10 million.
The whale stated that despite BTC briefly falling back to around $76,000 over the weekend, reducing the position at that time still aligned with its trading discipline. As for the remaining position, the original plan was to set a hard stop-loss near $80,400. However, considering that if BTC's daily chart were to reclaim the $78,000-$78,500 level after the US stock market opens, it would close the position early and accept the loss. The whale claimed that even if this trade ultimately results in a loss, it is acceptable, as it does not want to miss out on a potential trend move from $80,000 to $100,000 in the future because of chasing back a single loss.
In its latest reply, the whale confirmed that it has closed the remaining BTC short position and stated, "This trade is completely over."
