Odaily Planet Daily News The Kobeissi Letter stated on X that last week, hedge funds' net selling of US stocks reached its largest weekly level since the week of April 2025's "Liberation Day," ending a three-week streak of net buying.
Among the total sell-off, individual stocks accounted for approximately 53%, with 9 out of 11 sectors seeing net selling, primarily concentrated in information technology, industrials, utilities, healthcare, and materials. Meanwhile, macro products such as index futures and ETFs accounted for approximately 47% of the total selling. Additionally, hedge funds slightly increased their short positions in US-listed ETFs, ending a six-week streak of short covering, indicating that hedge funds are significantly reducing their long exposure to US equities.
