On August 22, 2026, a suspected security-related incident occurred on the SAND network, potentially leading to expanded market price volatility. Upbit reminds users holding SAND assets to stay informed on related developments and trade with caution. Currently, Upbit has not disclosed specific details of the attack or the extent of losses, only providing relevant on-chain transaction addresses for verification. Previously, the native token SAND on the Base network was suspected to have a security vulnerability, granting attackers token minting permissions and enabling arbitrary minting of additional SAND tokens.
