Waymo, under Google, announces development of custom chips

Odaily News: Waymo, under Google, has developed a custom chip designed to enhance the performance of its robotaxis, expanding its chip supply sources from third-party companies like Nvidia to in-house development. This application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chip has already entered mass production in Waymo's latest generation of robotaxis, improving vehicle response times and navigation capabilities. Waymo stated that the chip delivers over 1000 TOPS of computing power and is manufactured using TSMC's 5-nanometer process.
