U.S. Stock Pre-Market Key Updates: SK Hynix Unveils Next-Generation CPO Roadmap; 30-Year Treasury Yields Give Back Some Gains
Odaily News – Before the U.S. stock market opens, here are the key financial updates investors need to watch:
1. All three major U.S. stock index futures are moving lower. Dow Jones futures are down 0.79%, S&P 500 futures are down 0.55%, and Nasdaq 100 futures are down 0.82%.
2. International oil prices are surging today. WTI crude oil futures are up 3.38% to $87.239 per barrel, while Brent crude oil futures are up 2.85% to $94.228 per barrel.
3. Both international spot gold and silver are declining. Spot gold is down 1.34% to $4,462.37 per ounce, while spot silver is down 1.12% to $66.23 per ounce.
4. Europe's three major indices are all trading lower. The UK's FTSE 100 is down 0.44%, France's CAC 40 is down 0.54%, and Germany's DAX 30 is down 0.60%.
5. U.S. Treasury Department data shows that the total federal government debt has surpassed $40 trillion for the first time. The market generally believes that the U.S. dollar could become the "biggest loser" as the U.S. increases Treasury buybacks.
6. The 30-year U.S. Treasury yield rose 6 basis points to 5.26% intraday, giving back all the gains since the Treasury Department's buyback announcement.
7. SK Hynix has set clear technical goals for next-generation AI infrastructure: extending optical interconnect to memory interfaces. The company has proposed a "light-centric" architecture that connects memory and processors directly through a photonic interposer.
8. TSMC is reported to have completed development and verification of its 1.6nm-class A16 process and plans to begin mass production in the fourth quarter of this year. Compared to the enhanced 2nm process N2P, A16 delivers 8%–10% better performance at the same power consumption.
9. Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest in AI data annotation service provider Mercor to strengthen its open-source AI efforts. This funding round would value the startup at $20 billion.
10. "Big Short" investor Michael Burry has turned bearish on Nvidia again, claiming that AI chip company Etched is a formidable competitor, with its chip delivering 10x performance improvements at lower cost.
