OpenRouter CEO: Stripe Has Signed Agreement to Acquire OpenRouter
Odaily News: OpenRouter CEO Alex Atallah announced that Stripe has signed an agreement to acquire OpenRouter. Upon completion of the transaction, OpenRouter will retain its current name, products, roadmap, and mission unchanged, and will continue to adhere to the principle of model neutrality, with its model routing decisions remaining unaffected by the change in parent company.
Atallah stated that OpenRouter currently integrates over 400 AI models, serves more than 10 million developers and enterprises, processes over 10 trillion tokens daily, and has seen its inference volume grow at least 10-fold annually since its inception. Regarding the choice of Stripe, Atallah noted that Stripe possesses a vast customer network, global infrastructure operation experience, and mature fraud and abuse management capabilities, and the combination of the two will enable OpenRouter to expand more rapidly without sacrificing neutrality or its mission.
