Stifel: Expects Nvidia Earnings to Beat and Raise Guidance, Maintains "Buy" Rating and $282 Price Target

2026-08-19 14:08

Odaily Planet Daily News Wall Street investment bank Stifel maintained a "Buy" rating and a $282 price target ahead of Nvidia's Q2 FY2027 earnings release on August 26, expecting the results to beat expectations and guidance to be raised. Analysts believe that continued upward revisions in cloud service provider capital expenditures, Hon Hai's AI server revenue share surpassing 50% for the first time (with full-year AI rack shipments expected to more than double), and Supermicro's single-quarter new orders exceeding $60 billion all reinforce the AI demand thesis. Supply chain checks indicate that even as Vera Rubin begins to ramp, demand for GB300 is likely to persist into the first half of 2027, reducing the risk of a demand vacuum during the product transition period. Regarding controversies over memory costs and AI inference competition, Stifel believes the impact is more reflected in gross margins than on the demand side, and that some of the risks are already priced into the valuation.
