Odaily News: Stablecoin issuer Tether stated that its global user base has surpassed 650 million, and it plans to expand lightweight AI tools to developing markets, focusing on services that can run on ordinary smartphones.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company plans to develop practical applications in areas such as health, finance, and sports, without focusing on building cutting-edge AI models. Tether views AI as an extension of its existing global business reach.
Paolo Ardoino pointed out that Tether no longer positions itself as a traditional cryptocurrency company, but rather as a digital dollar and digital gold company. USDT circulation stands at approximately $183 billion, and over the past two years, the company has also invested in decentralized communications, agriculture, and solar energy systems.
KPMG recently reviewed Tether's asset reserves, which include approximately 150 tons of gold stored in Switzerland, and confirmed that its reserves exceed its liabilities by $6.8 billion. (Bitcoin.com News)
