Odaily Planet Daily News Galaxy Research report shows that in the second quarter of 2026, the scale of crypto-backed loans decreased by 16.78% to $56.16 billion, contracting for the third consecutive quarter. The previous three quarters saw declines of 10%, 5%, and 17%, respectively. Among them, DeFi loan volume fell 27.61% to $20.43 billion, while CeFi loan volume decreased 9.62% to $22.98 billion; CeFi loan volume surpassed DeFi for the first time since the third quarter of 2023. In the CeFi market, Tether leads with a 58.5% share, with the top three—Tether, Maple, and Nexo—accounting for a combined 74.96%.
