Odaily News, Novig filed a federal lawsuit on August 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin against Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul and state gambling administrator John Dillett. Novig anticipates that Wisconsin will soon take enforcement action to prevent it from offering sports-related event contracts to state residents. In April, Wisconsin sued platforms including Kalshi, Polymarket, Robinhood, Crypto.com, and Coinbase, alleging that their sports event contracts violate the state's commercial gambling ban. Novig only began offering contracts to Wisconsin customers one week before filing the lawsuit and has requested the court to expedite a preliminary injunction hearing to block state enforcement.
