Tom Lee Bullish on "Founder Premium": OpenAI and Robinhood's Success Not Reliant on AI Tools
Odaily News Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee said in an interview that in the era of artificial intelligence, the vision and judgment of company founders are more important than ever. What truly drives a company forward is not asking questions to AI, but the ability to create a future direction.
Tom Lee stated that OpenAI would not exist without Sam Altman's vision, and the same applies to Anthropic and Elon Musk's AI-related ventures. He believes the core value of these founders lies in setting long-term strategy and direction, rather than simply asking their own AI models what to do next.
Tom Lee also placed Robinhood ($HOOD) CEO Vlad Tenev in the same category, noting that he is leading a company in a high-growth market that is expanding even faster than the overall economy. Vlad Tenev is one of the key reasons he is bullish on Robinhood's stock. He confirmed that his investment portfolios, "Granny Shots" and "Granny SMID," adopt a concentrated holding strategy, and therefore will allocate significant weight to companies with strong founder visions.
Tom Lee believes that in the AI era, the technology itself may gradually become commoditized, but the ability of founders to define market direction and drive organizational execution will remain a company's long-term competitive advantage.
