Hinton believes that AI will indeed create new job opportunities, but the number of new positions may not be enough to offset the jobs that are replaced. He has previously warned that the tech industry is overly focused on short-term commercial interests, pushing companies to replace human labor with cheaper AI systems. However, Hinton also emphasized that predicting the long-term impact of AI is extremely difficult.
