First-half Revenue Down 48.7%, Bithumb Reports Net Loss Exceeding $70 Million
Odaily News Bithumb released its Q2 2026 earnings report, disclosing first-half revenue of 168.8 billion KRW (approximately $109 million), down 48.7% year-over-year; operating profit of 14.9 billion KRW (approximately $9.6 million), down 83.4% year-over-year; and a net loss of 108.7 billion KRW (approximately $70.1 million). In Q2, Bithumb's revenue stood at 86.3 billion KRW (approximately $55.7 million), down 35.8% year-over-year, with operating profit of 12.1 billion KRW (approximately $7.8 million), down 44.0% year-over-year. Bithumb attributed the decline to sustained high interest rate policies in the U.S., which have diverted both Korean and global investors' funds and attention toward AI and semiconductor stock markets, resulting in decreased activity in the virtual asset trading market.
