New Zealand witnesses SMS scams impersonating Binance; Binance issues warning urging users not to click links

Odaily News, Binance New Zealand recently issued a security warning, alerting local users to the frequent SMS phishing scam activities that have been appearing lately. The scammers impersonate Binance officials, using free cryptocurrency or event tickets as bait, and falsely claim in the text messages that their activities have been approved by New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority (FMA).

Binance reminds users not to click any links in such text messages, nor to connect their wallets to suspicious platforms. Users can verify the authenticity of related contact information and URLs through Binance's official verification tool "Binance Verify" to prevent asset loss.
