Odaily News Flight tracking company FlightAware has filed a lawsuit against prediction market platform Kalshi in a New York federal court, accusing it of using FlightAware's flight data and trademark without authorization to offer bets on airline flight cancellations.
The complaint alleges that Kalshi violated FlightAware's licensing terms and continued to use the relevant data to settle contracts even after receiving a cease-and-desist notice. Even though Kalshi added a disclaimer stating that its market is not endorsed by FlightAware, it continued to cite the company's data.
Currently, Kalshi also faces other lawsuits brought by the states of New York, Wisconsin, and Nevada over alleged unlicensed gambling operations. (CoinDesk)
