2026-08-11 10:03

Odaily News According to the Chinese edition of South Korea's JoongAng Ilbo on the 11th, Kiwoom Securities has simultaneously lowered its target stock prices for Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. Recently, market concerns have intensified over the possibility that the general-purpose memory chip industry has already peaked (Peak-out), prompting an increasing number of securities firms to cut their target price forecasts for South Korea's "two major market leaders" — Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.

The previous day, Kiwoom Securities lowered its target price for Samsung Electronics from 390,000 KRW to 350,000 KRW, and for SK Hynix from 2.2 million KRW to 2.1 million KRW, while maintaining a "Buy" investment rating on both stocks. Major brokerages including Mirae Asset Securities, Shinhan Investment Securities, and Samsung Securities have successively reduced their target prices for the two stocks by around 30%.
