30余人被骗超300万元，虚拟货币“质押挖矿”骗局持续一两个月设局

Odaily News: A new type of virtual currency "staking mining" scam has recently emerged. Scammers build long-term relationships with victims through social platforms, chatting for one to two months to establish trust before guiding them to private communication apps such as WhatsApp and Discord, where they are directed to download fraudulent mining platforms and sign contracts granting authorization. These scammers exploit contract-based asset transfer permissions to move funds out of victims' accounts. Throughout the process, scammers avoid sensitive terms like "investment" or "wealth management," packaging the scheme as "staking mining with idle computing power" and claiming zero risk with guaranteed returns. They lure victims into increasing their investments through small initial payouts. Currently, the victims are mostly young people seeking side income, with over 30 known victims defrauded of more than 3 million yuan, and the largest individual loss exceeding 300,000 yuan. Victims span multiple regions across the country.
