Two days after the incident, the Bitcoin BIP editor team removed edit access from Luke Dashjr, the lead proponent of the proposal. Editor Mark Erhardt introduced a motion to remove him, citing conflicts of interest, minimal contributions, leadership of the contentious fork, and breakdown of coordination. Supporters claim Dashjr used his editorial privileges to favor BIP-110 by assigning BIP numbers before mailing list discussions and quickly merging PRs; since April 2024, his contributions amounted to less than 1%. BIP-110's signaling support peaked at 2.53%, far from the 55% threshold, and the forced chain stalled at block height 961,633. Ocean was the only mining pool signaling before the fork and has now resumed non-BIP-110 operations.
