Apple reportedly begins testing CXMT memory chips

Odaily News: Apple is testing memory chips from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) across its product lines such as the iPhone and MacBook, in an effort to alleviate memory shortages triggered by the AI boom. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the report stated that Apple has initiated preliminary discussions with CXMT, China's largest chipmaker, regarding component supply, with the goal of using these chips in some devices sold in China. Reuters previously reported that CXMT is considering building a second memory chip factory in Beijing to increase production capacity. Additionally, laptop makers HP and Acer have already begun using CXMT chips in devices sold outside the U.S. market to ease supply shortages. (The Wall Street Journal)
