194 companies on South Korea's KOSDAQ market have a market cap below the delisting standard, accounting for 10.6% of all listed companies on the exchange

2026-08-09 02:03

Odaily News As of August 7, 194 listed companies on South Korea's KOSDAQ market had a market cap below the threshold for administrative stocks, accounting for 10.6% of the 1,820 listed companies on the exchange; the KOSPI market had 41 such companies. Since July 1, the market cap standard for KOSDAQ has been raised from 15 billion KRW to 20 billion KRW, and for KOSPI from 20 billion KRW to 30 billion KRW. Companies whose market cap remains below the standard for 30 consecutive trading days will be classified as administrative stocks; once classified, they must recover above the standard for 45 consecutive trading days within 90 trading days, or they will enter the delisting process.

In terms of stock price standards, 48 listed companies have disclosed the risk of being classified as administrative stocks due to their stock price remaining below 1,000 KRW for 25 consecutive trading days, including 38 on the KOSDAQ market and 10 on the KOSPI market. If these companies still do not have a trading day with a stock price reaching 1,000 KRW by August 12, they may be classified as administrative stocks starting from the next trading day. (NATE)
