Bezos: Amazon Plans to Launch Next-Generation AI Chip Trainium4 in 2027

Odaily News: Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, said in an interview with Fortune that the chip business will become the next long-term pillar following Marketplace, Prime, and AWS. Amazon plans to launch its next-generation chip, Trainium4, in 2027. Amazon's chip business is primarily supported by Annapurna Labs, which was acquired by Amazon in 2015 and is currently responsible for designing AI chips.

Previously, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated during the Q2 2026 earnings call that the annualized revenue scale of the AI chip and self-developed chip businesses has both exceeded $25 billion, with the related businesses holding multi-year customer commitments exceeding $225 billion.
