Odaily Planet Daily News: Wells Fargo will launch tokenized deposit services for corporate clients this fall, with the initial phase supporting USD-to-GBP transactions. The service will be integrated into its existing payment platform, and eligible transactions will automatically use tokenized deposits when speed, timing, or flexibility improvements are needed.
Wells Fargo stated that the system supports 24/7 transfers, including weekends and holidays, and plans to add programmable payment features that release funds once preset conditions are met. These deposits remain bank liabilities and retain the regulatory protections and deposit insurance eligibility corresponding to their traditional products.
Magmar, Co-CEO of Cosmos Labs, stated that Wells Fargo's blockchain is built using Cosmos technology. Wells Fargo plans to expand the service scope in 2027 to cover more customers, countries, and currencies.
