PPP Prediction Market Tool monitoring shows that in Polymarket's "WTI Crude Oil Price Hit in August" prediction event, the probability of WTI crude falling to $75/barrel rose to 77%, up 11% in 24 hours; the probability of falling to $70/barrel rose to 45%, up 12% in 24 hours.
Earlier, oil prices were driven up by escalating tensions in the Middle East, but after Trump announced a halt to military action against Iran and indicated that the U.S. and Iran would enter a new round of negotiations, market concerns over supply disruptions began to ease, causing the risk premium on crude to quickly retreat. WTI crude prices have now fallen to around $80/barrel.
